Spring 2012 English 160 UIC students (whose videos can be found under February 2012 tabs) were asked to create visual essays on Chicago. They were asked to consider the following themes and to pick one: Immigration, Art, Education, Social Class and Violence. The goal was to create a visual argument on Chicago and one of these themes. This visual essay will take you on a tour of Little Italy so you can get a taste of how Italians live just by watching this essay.
I'm mad jealous of your editing skills, but by far, my favorite part was your music choice. I don't like Sinatra, but you used him brilliantly.
Also, I was wondering, did you meet people who identified as Italian American and not Italian? I wonder if this makes a big difference for some people.
